Alludo USER to USER Web Board

If I have less than an hour of DV-AVI captured video and I go to create a video file, which do I choose to get the best quality dvd?
DVD>NTSC DVD (4:3) or NTSC DVD(4:3,Dolby Digital 5.1) or DVD>NTSC MPEG2 (720x480, 29.97 fps) or Same as project settings or Same as first video clip ( I don't understand these last two. ) Blu-ray would be the best I guess, but I don't have any of that.

Then, after that file is created, when I go to create a disc, do I go to project settings and change the MPEG settings to get the best DVD? And if so, which MPEG setting is the best quality? Is Dolby Sound the better audio to choose?

Also, I was reading in this forum where someone said to clear the timeline before creating the video file, I think that was in an older Video Studio. I don't get that either. I am using Video Studio Pro x2
