1. Download and install the Microsoft Windows Clean Up utility. This will remove all registry keys associated with the VideoStudio 12.0 install process:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;290301

2. Run the Windows Clean Up utility; Click Start >> Programs >> Windows Install Clean Up. Highlight VideoStudio 12.0 from the list of products. Click Remove. Click Exit when done.

If an error occurs after clicking the remove button, just click Ok to ignore and exit the utility.

3. Delete the following folders/directories:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\
On Windows XP:
¡E C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\application data\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\12.0
On Windows Vista:
¡E C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio\12.0
4. Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\ and delete the {F0FDF9C9-1DDC-401F-B638-36F1CAE8A875} folder.
5. Go to Start >> Run and then type: regedit
6. Hit "OK" to launch Regedit window.
7. Go to "My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio"; delete the folder "12.0"
8. Go to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio"; delete the folder "12.0"
9. Close the Regedit.
10. Clean up temporary files and Recycle Bin by launching the Disk Cleanup from Start menu >> Programs >> Accessories >> System Tools >> Disk Cleanup.

display settings

Post by brucefl »

Well, if I can find it again, but corel did tell me if my settings were at a certain dispaly to make sure it said small lettering. Still working on movign around 7. This would be a temporary fix till they come out with a update or patch.

This fix for the "pan & zoom" is not temporary. I shouldn't have any issues going forward with pan & zoom.

The update/patch you are referring to is for is for other issues.

Hi, can anyone help with the following problem on Win 7 with VS X2:

Save as still image gives error when importing the image: "These files cannot be added to this project. These files may be of unknown file format, the computer does not have enough memory or the file is copy protected. In Corel Videostudio folder, the image file is shown without any bits and also cannot be opened.

Hi, I got it fixed. Run as Administrator in the program settings in the Program Files folder.

mp4's and windows 7

Post by brucefl »

I tried something a little different, I put a mp4 in the timeline, and went right to burn. It seemed to burn the disc, and play alright (though I haven't played the whole thing)
Then I went back into vs12, this time it played in the view screen.
But when I tried to trim or multi trim it locked up.

If I first start VS up and place a mp4, it will immediatly lock up.
I am going to try a few other files in the next few days.
Passing this along FYI, and if anyone has other suggestions (I realize I can convert the files) I am still wondering as in an earlier post if it the relationshiop between QT and VS? Just a thought. I did re-associate the exentsion with QT, but didn't make a difference. I may try uninstalling and reinstalling again. QT is up to date.
New OS are such fun :D

This is what I have received fromm Corel Tech Support

Thank you very much for your e-mail.

The VideoStudio development team is aware of this issue. They are already working on this matter.

Unfortunately, this is the only info I can tell to you at this moment.

I am going to try an .avi file sometime today see if I run into similar problems.

There is a Win 7 patch-but for the Japanese version only:

No sign of a similar one for English versions.

strange

That is kind of weird. I guess they use VS more there than elsewhere. Though possible most of the programmers are Japanese and probably easier to fix, then switch to other languages.

With ref. to link:

If you need translation go to Google translate.

I have downloaded the above patch, everything is working with Video Studio & Windows 7.

Made a short video and it works OK.

Not sure whether it matters, but which version of VS did you apply the Japanese patch to? That is, which territory (U.S., Europe, etc.) and which edition (X2, X2 Pro, X2 Ultimate).

As far as I am aware the buttons showed up in the burning. I did not take much notice of the buttons, only to say that when I first tried it the "Next" button did not show at all, when the patch was added I pressed the "Next" button and it went onto the "Burn" DVD process.

I live in the UK, the patch was applied to VS Pro 2.

Made a small movie, burned it, "all was right with the world." :D Everything works perfectly. I use X2 Pro US version. There are 2 patches on this page, the top one is the one for W7.
