An RTM 7600 Version (GOLD) (Ultimate) with a Corporate licence would be very handy :-)

Just a gentle reminder - this thread is a sticky so that you can draw attention to Corel Engineers any issues found affecting VideoStudio used with a Windows 7 Operating System.

So you can put anything you like in here re win 7 and video editing to show/compare/test/prove/highlight strenghts/weakenesses as long as you only mention/talk/discuss ONE PRODUCT - Video Studio?

A llttle hard to draw any conclusions/ideas?

Sorry, but this is, after all, a forum for Video Studio. And, sorry again, but it was you who started the thread with the title X2 and Win 7 after all...

So I personally have been treating it as a forum to discuss how VS reacts with Win 7, rather than a forum to discuss how Win 7 reacts with a variety of other products. I am also not sure what other conclusions/ideas you want to discuss apart from how X2 reacts with Win 7. There are, as you know, a fair number of other forums to discuss that more general question of how other programs react with the OS.

Here is my findings:

When trying to create a dvd menu..Under the create chapters. after clicking chapters and adding the chapters you get a WINDOWS CLOSING ERROR.

Tried this on VS 11.5 and VS X2 Pro. Both same issues. Hopefully Corel will get a fix for this

DirectX 11 confirmed for Windows 7 - Microsoft revised statement
We just received new information about DirectX 11. The new API will be delivered with Windows 7.
Ben Basaric, Product Marketing Manager Windows, confirmed that Windows 7 will be delivered with DX11.

Ben Basaric, Product Marketing Manager Windows, confirmed that Windows 7 will be delivered with DX11.

Microsoft's Ben Basaric just told us that Windows 7 will, contrary to the rather vague statement a few days ago, be delivered with DirectX 11. Furthermore DX11 will also come for Windows Vista although Microsoft wouldn't confirm, if this will coincide with the release of Service Pack 2 for Vista.

I am unable to locate a download of Direct X 11 to re-install?
Actually, what I meant was to install the latest DX9 update (march 09) in Win7. I am not sure if this works, but since DX11 includes DX9 it should... Just a thought.

Most (if not all) buttons and menus in Windows have shortcuts, you just need to find them. As people have found, even though the buttons are off the screen in the burning module, you can go to the next screen with Alt-N. You can also get to the project properties with Alt-G or the MPEG burning properties with Alt-J

To speed up Windows 7 and to avoid needless programs getting loaded
in memory especially while editing disable "Superfetch". This tries to remember what at all applications you opened or keeping using regularly
and tries load these programs automatically into memory.
Superfetch can be disabled from

Control panel > Administrative supprt > services.

Right click "Super fetch" and disable or make it "manual" as required.

This is applicable for Vista too :)
