All,

Just noticed that the patch for the U.S. and other places to support Windows 7 is now on the Corel site:

Link http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/ ... 7273776985.

It is called Service Pack 2.

And it appears to be the same size as the patch from the Japanese site...

How do you determine what service pack is installed?

If you click the ? at the top right corner of VideoStudio and select "About VideoStudio" you should see that before any patches are installed your version number is 12.0.96.0
The final 0 will increment with each patch installed.

Not according to Corel. They told me that my version, 12.0.98.0 had service pack 1. I subsequently installed service pack 2 (which did fix the Windows 7 problem). My version number remained 12.0.98.0. The chat line person said that I had to reboot before the version number changed. I rebooted and my version number is still 12.0.98.0. I am waiting for a chat line person to respond, even as I write this message.

I contacted Corel tech support and told them my version number did not change. They said that they know that. Maybe they updated the patch to fix this issue.

Video Sudio and Win 7 problem

Post by JoReneA »

I'm testing Video Studio and can't burn a disk because the button only says BACK when it should say next. It is the same as the posted screen shot. Has any remedy been found for this? I can't install the updates because I am using a trial version before purchasing a full version.

I also noticed that when changing the quality of the DVD, the size of the file does not go down...in other words, I cannot fit the project on one disk by making the quality lower. Does this only work when capturing video. I am working with a file that was converted to mpg from a TV show.

Thank you for any help.

i coped file VSX2PROPATCH.which is some kind of update for studio 12, but when i run it, it says: Installer cannot fint COrel Video Studio 12 on your machine; but when i turn on the Studio, then says that it can't do anything because video studio is working in background....

I believe this is incorrect. What they are calling service pack two in that link is the patch they came out with last Dec 08 to fix various issues.

Below that is the patch for windows 7 which upon further analysis is exactly the same file discovered earlier in this thread for the Japan market. I down'oaded the two and compared them. Maybe the Japanese were unknowing beta testers and now that it's all good the rest of the world gets it? I know I downloaded the Japan patch a couple weeks ago and solved all my Win 7 issues.

Well at any rate Corel has stepped up and addressed the problem. Kudos to them. Now about those moving paths............

I haven't had an operational preview of my DVD's since......geez I can't recall which version. I just gave up totally on trying to use that function. Maybe that's been solved somewhere on this forum but I'm too lazy to search for the answer. I just learned to live without it.
