I guess then with Windows 7 we could use the XP mode VM machine you can download for use with it? But also, if it's in a VM environment won't it be slower?

Ok just thought I'd add that I've sorted it now for my system:

Right click the Video Studio X2 icon and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility", let that run and it suggested running in XP SP2 mode, click test and run VS X2. I can now create DVD images.

Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue?
Mike.

I can only go by what I have read from Microsoft because none of my computer have hardware virtualization which is a requirement of
Windows Virtual PC
If you look at the comparison chart between
Windows Virtual PC and Microsoft Virtual PC 2007
you will see several differences and it looks like Windows Virtual PC has been specially created to provide Windows 7 with a different kind of Virtual XP mode that you might have previously experienced.

Ditto here too..........

Can't understand for the life of me why this patch is not on Corel's web site.

Here we are customers & users of Corel products & we do all the leg work.

Japanese patch

Post by Richard57 »

I am nervous about applying the Japanese patch because I don't know if there could be any adverse effects. It isn't a necessity, since the keyboard workaround is sufficient. Hopefully, Corel will fix the problem soon.

Worse case scenario, reinstall VS.

Ah, but that assumes that one would know that some unknown effect was being caused by this patch.

I think the real problem is that Corel are very short of cash and resources to carry out enhancements and updates. They've just been bought out by their major investor:

Doesn't take a whole lot of cash to put the patch on their other sites.

Unless there is something about the Japanese patch that is not compatible.
