True, that patch does fix the location of the next button and the others along the bottom. I tried it and now I find now that the preview function does not work. With a thumbnail menu the video plays within the view window and the menu background stays on the screen. Same with a smartmenu, I did not try on text menu. This is the japanese patch in a US VSx2 with Windows 7. Here's hoping that a full patch for US comes soon. I have some videos to do and hate to think about having to go back to Windows XP so I can use VS x2

As it did for me -- though I remain totally puzzled as to why the patch, which is in English once you download it, is limited to the Japanese market.
However, I have not experienced any problem with the preview, using a smartmenu template, and could select a video from it which would then play in the full preview screen. I didn't try it with either a thumbnail or text menu...

Thanks aafuss, I agree with others that this patch sorts out the English language version too!aafuss wrote:There is a Win 7 patch-but for the Japanese version only:

No sign of a similar one for English versions.

Will VS X2 Pro converting AVCHD .mts files (say a 10min 1920x1080/60i about 17 Mbps VBR) to .mpg using MPEG Optimizer or DVD take more or less time with Windows 7 than XP Pro using a Core 2 Duo T6500 laptop with 4GB DDR2 800MHZ RAM and 320GB HDD 5400rpm? Will VS X2 Pro run as fast on Windows 7 Home Premium on this laptop as the other versions/flavors? Any opinions (other than buying a new PC) are greatly appreciated. Maybe I should wait another year or two to buy a new PC with Windows 7.

I applied the patch to the U.S. X2 Pro. The version is now 12.0.98.1 Pro. The serial number still appears in Help/About.
For those who have applied the patch, when you opened VS for the first time after applying it, did it ask you if you want to register? It asked me even though I registered VS when I first installed it last year.

So you had Microsoft Windows 7 a year ago????dalemccl wrote:I applied the patch to the U.S. X2 Pro. The version is now 12.0.98.1 Pro. The serial number still appears in Help/About.

I didn't say that very clearly. I first registered X2 last year while using Vista. Then I registered it again when I re-installed it last month after a clean install of Win 7 on the same PC, replacing Vista. I was just surprised that the patch asked me to register again. I thought the patch could detect that X2 had already been registered (via some type of Win 7 registry entry.)sjj1805 wrote:So you had Microsoft Windows 7 a year ago????dalemccl wrote:I applied the patch to the U.S. X2 Pro. This might have already been mentioned but doing a search came up with nothing, I've been trying to create a DVD movie for the first time in windows 7 x64 and am unable to get anywhere. I am trying to create to an image file not a DVD itself and just get "Unspecified Error 5:0:0" each time? No other message no idea what it means or anything?
Any other windows 7 x64 users out here with the same issue and (fingers crossed) a solution?
I've tried updating Direct X drivers and got the Japanese patch (which did fix the button positions for me) but it still wont write a DVD image?
Thanks in advance
Mike
