Quality loss if I use an old vs project to make a new one?

Post by mitacal »

I put video captured in DV-AVI format in a video studio pro x2 project. All I did was put a title at the beginning and put them in the timeline and then created a video file (dvd 4:3, is this the best quality to do this?) If I burn this project to dvd and then some time in the future want to add to it and then burn that to dvd (assuming I can pull that into the timeline) will there be any quality loss?

Yes there will be some quality reduction when editing Mpeg files, whether this is noticeable is in the eye of the beholder.

You wont lose quality is you have the original VSP file (basically a text file) and the original DV-AVI file....you may need to re-link to the original DV-AVI when you use the earlier VSP file in a later version of VS...but that should work.... you can add to your edit and create a new DVD
