Compression

Hi Everyone,
I capture to DV thru my DV camcorder via firewire to my PC. I use the DV encoder type 1 as my compression. Does anybody ever capture to DV "WITHOUT" any compression at all? I know this will be a huge file but will the picture be improved greatly? I want the best possible resolution for my picture quality. Anyones input would be greatly appreciated.

You cannot capture totally uncompressed video from a DV device, because the DV standard contains an, albeit small, compression. That's the nature of the beast. Capturing through a firewire connection does not add any further compression.
