I have a number of questions concerning editing movie menu templates for burning DVDs in VideoStudio 12. However, I'm afraid the answer that "the program cannot do this type of formatting" is the answer to all of them. Here goes.
1) Can text be added to the Menu Template you're editing in addition to the Title and Chapter headings?
2) Can multiple lined Titles be justified, in other words, left, centered, or right justified? The default appears to be left justified.
3) Is there a way I can format the text more than font, size, and color, like adding a shadow, or box outline or special formats like you can earlier in Title editing for the main movie before the DVD Menu editing step.
4) I can play background music on the menu from an audio file, but when I add background video with accompanied audio, the audio doesn't play. Is this correctable?
5) And finally, is there a way to edit the action button on the menu. I know you can resize it and move it, but you can't change it from a blob to an arrow or change it's color. or simply delete it and use a text action button.
I can do this formatting for DVD menus in Roxio Creator 2009 and in Nero 9, but would prefer to use VideoStudio 12 since I like its other editing functions best.

Thanks Steve to your reply to my question. Sorry it took so long for me to get back. Basically, my question was about the menu editing limitations of VS12. I had VS9 in the past which seemed to have some editing capabilities (changing buttons, frames around thumbnails, etc) that VS12 doesn't have. I had to abandoned VS9 and upgraded to VS12 due to changing from Windows XP to Vista . From your answer, it appears I need additional software for the menu editing I want to do (here, Photo Impact).

Through the years I've accumulated video editors in Roxio Creator, Nero 9, and Pinnacle 12 - some through add-ons to VHS capture hardware I purchased. I found that each does some of the video editing and recording steps better than others. For instance, I like the Video Studio editing features best but I feel Roxio and Nero have better DVD menu editing. Since I can't use cross-species plugins, what I've been doing is creating MEPG files in VS12 and then burning it to DVD's with associated menu editing in Nero or Roxio. This involves an extra step and it would be nice to do it all in the same program.

Perusing through the product list of ULead, it's confusing what each software does that another doesn't. There's a lot of overlap. I do have Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. What is the difference between this program and Photo Impact? I hate to have to purchase more software to my collection.

VS 12 has all of the menu editing functions, if not more, than previous versions of VS.
