To deinterlace 60i for web viewing

Post by Nick Mirro »

Hi. For converting to a web format, I understand we are suppose to deinterlace if the video was recorded in 60i (reverse telecine for 24p). There seem to be 2 ways to deinterlace. Which is the right one to use?

ON IMPORT

"Deinterlace" option in Preferences\Capture\Import Digital Media\"Import From Folder?"

ON SHARE

Specify "Frame Based" when creating a custom video file in Share.

Are these both doing the same thing? Which one, or are both needed?

I would prefer to opt for the second method - on share.
The computer can take its time when rendering but "has to keep up" when importing.

Thanks thats helpful. That raises another question, if I you don't mind.

Is it better to use guidemenu (or copy/paste) to get the streams from camcorder to PC, instead of using VS's import utility?
