How do I Copy & Paste clips?

I would like to repeat a short clip of my daughter dropping the ring during the wedding maybe three times - then slow - mo the last clip.
I've got separate audio and video as I've merged two different camera views of the wedding.
I can select a clip and copy it - but can't figure out how to paste a duplicate in.
thanks!

Ctrl+V???
Or if you have edited the clip and want to use the edited version several times, then drag it from the timeline to the library window, and then simply drag it back into the timeline as many times as you want...

Along the line of what Ken mentioned, you can use CTL + C, then CTL + V. It will automatically paste it into a the appropriate (video for video clips, image for images and so on) library.

Very odd (non-standard) that you can't simply right click to Paste. Even worse that the Paste option on the Edit Menu is grayed out.
I can't believe this is by design, it has to be a bug!
Thank you for the work around everyone.

Well, if it's a bug, it's one which has continued over several versions of VS...!

Although it may be non-standard, it definitely is not a bug. There are other apps that do not let you right click and copy/paste.

Hi
Using VS 10 after selecting a clip in the timeline.
I can Copy and Paste using the Edit Menu, this pastes the clip to the library.
Using right click I can Copy and Paste to the library, I have to float the mouse over the library to paste.
I cannot paste to the timeline but use drag and drop to move clips from the library.
I can drag and drop files from a windows folder to the library or to the timeline.

InX2 -- at least my version of X2 Ultimate -- you cannot float the mouse over the library window and get a message, if that is what your mean. You have to put the mouse pointer in the library pane and right click, then you get the Paste Option.

I haven't used any of the previous versions and have just been playing around with X2.
The Paste option on the Right click and Edit menus is standard Windows GUI, which is why I presumed that this was anything other then a bug.
Why provide the Copy option on the Edit menu, but gray out the Paste option?

Because you can't use it everywhere (i.e. the timeline).

You can paste (right click and Edit menu) in to the timeline in other similar products such as WMM, Sony Vegas, MSP8, Cyberlink PowerDirector 7, and Pinnacle Studio 12.

That's great. But you can't in VS. It's not a bug. It's what the programmers decided. So live with it or use those other apps.
