Horizontal Flip

I placed all the files from the FXBench folder, that was installed on my computer into the corel\..\vft_plugin folder. Did you do that, or just leave it as installed outside of VideoStudio?
Hopefully that will do it.

but when I drag the Burger effect filter to a clip in the time line
But what you should see is a cube entitled "FX Bench". That's what you drag to the clip on your timeline. The circle with a diagonal line moves as you drag it to the clip. That circle with the diagonal indicates that you have "collected" the filter from the library! All the filters in the program have that symbol! In fact everything you drag to the timeline be it video clips, images, colors etc all have the same symbol when you drag them.
Yes all 13 files in the FX Bench folder need to be copied to the yftplug folder here:
C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 12\vft_plug

pepagoto,

yes, I copied all the files from the Burger FX Bench folder to the VS vft_plugin folder.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact I am running VS 12 with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. Maybe the plug-in doesn't work with Vista or with 64 bit (or the combination).

It's not something I would probably use very often, so it's not a big problem.

It certainly works with Vista Ultimate 32 bit...

Well, I've been trying to install FXBench with VSX2 and not having any success. I tried copy and pasting the FX files into the Corel vft folder and they are there but still do not show up when I run VS X2.

I read about running FX as a stand alone.... How would I go about adding the horizontal flip to a clip in the timeline in VS X2?

Use VSX3 - it DOES have a flip filter.

Thanks for that reply. Can't say I'll be getting VS 13 though....

At one time I had BenchFX working with VS X2 because I remember it had it's own slot in the dropdown Filters menu. I recently did a system recovery on my computer and reinstalled everything. Now for some reason it's not working. :?

Very strange situation....

So I open a project on VS X2 where I used FXBench. I click on the filtered clip in the timeline and VS freezes and the program needs to close. I try it again. Same result. So again I manually move the fxbench.vft file into Ulead Filters folder - I tried yesterday without any success - and now it works!

Very strange indeed.....

I think this FX Bench is not ready for HD (AVCHD). The image gets strongly distorted on horizontal and vertical flips (like desynchronized in analog TV). Did somebody else try the filters on HDV or AVCHD ffootage?

That's what I used the horizontal flip on (HDV) and it worked fine.
