Flip video horizontally
In VS X2 you can rotate objects, but there seems to be no way to flip them horzontally. I must take clips and use "Virtual Dub" to do the flip.

Welcome to the forums,
That's correct. You need to use a third-party application to flip them, horizontally or vertically. Try FX Bench, by member Stephan Burger. FX Bench is a programmable Filter-Extension for video editing applications. It does have a filter for flipping horizontally and vertically. When you install it, it will show up in your Video Filters menu as it's own filter called FX Bench.
To use it, just drag it onto your clip in the timeline, then press the Customize button. This will open up FX Bench, where you can choose from the many filters...

You will need to manually install the burger programs (FX Bench / Burger Transitions) these were written when the various ULEAD programs resided in a folder structure c:\program files\Ulead\...
That has now changed to C:\programs files\corel\....
You can copy/paste from a "Ulead" directory to the same place under the "Corel" directory structure.

I have a Burger/FXbench directory but not a Ulead directory. I guess I need to copy the files from Burger/FXbench and paste to a folder in
C:\programs files\corel\.... but not sure which one. Any guidance much appreciated.

Horizontal Flip FXbench
Cannot see filter(FXbench) in VS X2. Tried various things:
1. Dumped directory(FXBench) into vft_plug-no good
2. Dumped files into vft_plug-no good
3. Just placed FXbench.vft into-no good
Just guess I'll have to use "Virtual Dub" as this is inoperable.
Also, when used independently, I get a blank screen after opening a clip-not too good.
It would be nice if Corel included these basic filters in their product.

Horizontal Flip Burger
Just found Burger in filters-not in All. All it gives me is a cube on the screen-no choice for filters. Still-no good.
Customize Filter does not appear on the screen-cannot select.

Hi Pepegota. With a clip on the timeline, Click the downfacing arrow head and click on Video Filter, then at the botton click Burger, then Drag the cube marked FXBench to your clip in the timeline, click on "Customise Filter" and they are all revealed. Scroll down to "Flip Horizontal".
Works perfecty and so much choice.

Re: Horizontal Flip Burger
Same thing here. "Burger" appears in the Video Filter list, but selecting it just shows a cube in the library entitled "FXBench". No options, no choices.pepegota wrote:Just found Burger in filters-not in All. All it gives me is a cube on the screen-no choice for filters. Still-no good.

This is with the latest VS patch and March 2009 DirectX.
It's odd that it works for some people and not for others.

And are you dragging the filter to the timeline, like you have to do with every filter?

Horizontal flip
It Works!!!
Hopefully that will work for pepegota, the original poster, but when I drag the Burger effect filter to a clip in the time line, a circle with a diagonal line through it appears, indicating it can't do that.Black Lab wrote:And are you dragging the filter to the timeline, like you have to do with every filter?
