Can't save project to disk

Post by stefos »

Hi, I'm having a problem transferring a 15 minute holiday video to DVD. Following recommendations that I have read on this forum the short video files are in .mpg and the photographs are in .jpg and there is also a little text. Whenever I try to 'create a video file' I get an 'insufficient memory' error message at around 60% download, when I have memory to spare!
If I try to burn it directly to disk, after a few seconds I get an 'unspecified error' message and Ulead Studio v10 closes down.It plays fine when saved using Quicktime,VLC and Winamp on my PC.
I'd be grateful if anyone could throw some light on the matter!

Regards,
stefos

Hi Stefos -- and welcome to the forum!

Could you also please clarify what you mean by "it plays fine in VLC..." By "it" I assume you mean the original video from the camera, rather than a project completed in a video editing package.

Can we also assume the video came from a video camera and not from a still camera? If so, can you give us the brand and model of the video camera, please.

I eventually created a video file via custom and saving as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file before converting and saving to DVD successfully.
I'm sure it must be a pretty convoluted method of achieving it, but all's well that ends well!
It's probably knowing that I had the support and experience of you gentlemen that made me not give up. Thanks.
Regards, stefos.

It really is a convoluted way of doing things, and you would be losing quality through that series of conversions. Moreover, .wmv can be a difficult and slow format to play around with. If you gave us the information we requested, we may be able to suggest a simpler way of doing things...
