Why is it that VS x2 does not seem to support Flash Video (.flv) format?

I want to use a piece of flash video in one of my projects...

If I must convert the video to .avi format, how can I do that without loss to the quality of the .flv file?

What is the best alternative for me?

Thanks...

We don't know, only Corel does. It takes a special player to view FLV files, which is not included with VS.

There is no way to covert an FLV file without suffering some loss. FLV files are very highly compressed, so the file sizes will be very small. This is so viewing via the internet can be easily done. There are several FLV file converters available. Once free converter you could try is Super ©. If you're wanting to burn your project to video DVD, then I recommend converting it to MPEG-2, not DV (avi). This will minimize the number of conversions, and loss in quality.
