Hello I have a large ammount of 8mm movie film that I would like to convert to DVD using Ulead Version 9.
I have made various attempts using a 8mm projector playing the film on a white sheet and then filming it using a Sony TRV110e camcorder. try as i may I can't get a result that I am satified with . Has anyone tried copying film and if so have they another method other than mine.
Any replies will be well appreciated.
Thank you.

Hard to do well.
Have a very dark room
Project a very small image onto your paper, or use card as it holds it's shape better. (6"x4")
Have cam as close to projector as possible, in line with projection

Now, if you have the ability to, increse the frame rate to as close to 25fps or 30fps as possible, plus if the cam allows adjust the frequency of the capture to try to eliminate the flickering, adjust the colour and white balance of capture.

If you have a poor piece of film then it will be recorded poorly.

There are companies that will do it, though of course I don't know about your area. And in addition, they tend to be expensive...

Like me by post!!!

Or you can have it wet telecined, where they scan each frame. Tends to be very expensive!!
