Canon & Video Studio 11 & *.mts high definition files - how do I import the movies? I have tried all the ways I can find in the menu system - when I point to the directory with the *.mts files, I get this:
"No items match your search" - 2 mts files are there, what's wrong? File types is "All Formats"
What do I do next? Thank you, Dave Y

I am a complete newbie who started with VS X2 Pro so please don't take this as necessarily correct but it looks like you need Version 11.5 to import .m2ts files! see this

VS11+ could import and deal with .mts/m2ts video, but it had to be the PLUS/+ version, not the plain vanilla version. VS11.5+ included various fixes to make editing AVCHD smoother (although it certainly did not fix everything, as we have found with VS12 as well).
Normally, you just 'import' the AVCHD files in the same way you transfer any file from an external drive. Windows/VS 12/VS11.5+/VS11+ see the SD card or camera hard drive as an external hard disk and you transfer the files this way using in effect Copy and Paste. If VS cannot 'see' the clips, then it suggests that indeed either (1) you have the vanilla version of VS11; and/or (2) the relevant H.264/AVCHD codec is not installed on your computer and Windows cannot see them either.
