I have never use MF4 to do capturing whether in digital or analog mode. I prefer to use Pinnacle Studio 8 & WinDVD Creator. I use MF4 for the authoring & burning only & I don't have any of those problems mentioned in this forum. As I mentioned in another thread, MF4 only recognise 1 drive on my PC - I have 3 DVD writers - 1 on IDE & 2 on RAID. I hope Ulead will have a patch soon so that I can make use of all my drives & increase the recording speed.
There may be a problem in the Capture engine or some compatibility problems but I won't waste my time using MF4 for capturing.

To my knowledge, RAID can be used for both IDE hard disks & optical devices. I have set up 3 computers using Silicon IO cards on an Asus 845PE MB - 2 HDD on Pri IDE, 1 CDRW/DVD Combo & 1 DVDRW on Sec IDE, 2 DVDRW on RAID Pri. RAID Sec is spare. No problems in burning DVD on RAID using Nero, Sonic DVDit & Pinnacle Studio 8.7 Only MF3 & 4 do not recognise the drives on RAID. You can see the selection but when you select a drive on RAID & put in an empty disk, an error msg says there is no disk in the drive.
