VideoStudio 12.0.98.1 Pro Crashing...

Every time I try to create a disk the program crashes, doesn't matter what kind of disk it still crashes.
Here is the error from the event log;
Faulting application vstudio.exe, version 12.0.0.0, time stamp 0x48c12aa3, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.4016, time stamp 0x49cc5361, exception code 0xc000000d, fault offset 0x0000ed53, process id 0x1fbc, application start time 0x01c9dfd532670450.
I installed the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 update, which didn't help.
Any ideas anyone?

Since the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 update has absolutely nothing to do with Video Studio, I am not surprised it did nothing for *Video* Studio Pro!
Visual Studio is an IDE from Microsoft and mostly concerned with developing GUIs...
The only update currently available for *Video* Studio X2 is at

The MSVCR80.dll file is part of Visual Basic 2005, this is also referred to in the error message, so to me it would make perfect sense to try and update it.
Oh well...

It is a Dynamic Link Library used by various programs including VisualStudio and including other programs such as VideoStudio and also the Firefox Web Browser. Use your Windows Explorer Search Function for MSVCR80.dll and you will probably find several alternative versions of that particular file scattered about your hard drive.
Not being at my own computer right now I couldn't say from memory which directory the entry relating to Corel VideoStudio X2 will be but it should be obvious from the search results.
1. Make a back up copy of the existing MSVCR80.dll relating to VSx2
2. Copy/paste one of the alternative versions found on your computer to replace the one relating to Vsx2

sjj1805: Unfortunately the folder isn't obvious, I searched the entire hard drive, while the file does appear many times, none are in any folders that look remotely like they're connected to VS 12.
