Re-encode HDV?

Post by zoobie »

Does VS11 re-encode HDV if you're just joining clips and then re-saving as .m2t? Can't seem to find the answer to this...which is troublesome.
Thx

It will if (1) you have SmartRender enabled and (2) you have just joined the clips together and not added anything or changed the output properties in any way. If you add transitions, then output to a new HDV/.m2t, then if SmartRender is enabled, only the area around the transitions will be rendered.

Do you know it it's the same with MSP8? I've posted there and nobody answered.

I'm glad you found your answer. I have never used MSP so I didn't even know it could handle HDV, given its age...
