Does MSP 8 re-encode HDV?

Hey...What's up? Good to see this forum is still alive although I noticed Devil jumped ship to brand X

Anyway, since Windows 7 will support MSP and users are celebrating, I never found out if 8 re-encodes HDV (smart-renders).

I still have MSP 7.3 and may buy an upgrade if theres still one around.

Also, I've got VS11+...Does this re-encode the HDV?

I've been using another editor and it re-encodes everything.

I see it now...as long as smart render is ticked, it won't re-encode
