Im using the lastest version of VideoStudio Pro X2 and i do not see how to make a file at 24Mbps?

I have a Canon VIXIA HF200 and it records at 24Mbps and i would like to output a edited AVCHD file at that rate. How do i do so? It will not let me pick a higher data rate.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

VS12 was written before the new maximum of 24 Mbps was introduced for AVCHD. So there is no obvious setting you can use. I also don't think AVCHD activates the message 'Project Properties same as First Clip' when you insert the first clip in the timeline, so that is ruled out too.

The only thing I can think of which might work is to use Tools > Make Movie Template Manager. But instread of trying to pick a format and use the Edit button to change it, you have to use the Add button instead. (Sorry if I sound a bit vague here but I am a long way from home, and the computer I am using does not have VS installed on it. So I am going from memory here.)

Anyway, you press the Add button, and you get a new small dialogue box, where you assign a name to the new template. Then you press on the button which just has "..." three dots, and navigate to where you have one of your original AVCHD clips stored and click OK. The properties of the new template should now be the same as the original, and it should show down at the bottom of the drop down menu when you choose Share > Create Video File...

Note that once you have created a template this way, you must leave it alone. If you try to edit it in any way, it will revert to some general default ... though of course you can create a new one exactly the same way as above...

Good luck ... and let us know if it works, since as I say 24 Mbps is relatively new on the scene for AVCHD.
