no storage to save BB error message

Post by stannmaple »

Hi guys,
Small problem... (hopefully)
When I go to import a clip into videostudio, I get this message: "no storage to save BB" I click ok, then I get the "load from stream error" message. I know how to deal with the second message thanks to the kind members of this forum. I've never seen the first message though. Any ideas?

Here is my info:
Windows XP, videostudio 12, Dell Dimension E520. I'm importing an uncompressed AVI (I've done this loads of times with not problems) and I get the message while it's importing. Thanks in advance!

I've never seen that error message on any version of VS. However just guessing it might be that there is insufficient free space on your HDD, or not enough RAM to buffer properly. Uncompressed AVI is prohibitively large, at 65 gig per hour. I realize you say that you've done it before, but that may just have been an exception, lady luck smiling on you..;)

In your system info of your profile you list only 512 Megs of RAM, and running a AMD 1600+, but no mention of the size and free space of your hard drive(s). Both of those seem to be lacking for wanting to capture and edit such large files..

I tried Googling for that message, but all I seemed to get were unrelated references to BlackBerry. And of course the only other obvious BB I can think of is Bulletin Board. So it's still a strike-out...

And to top it off, Googling for the exact phrase yields this thread only...

Where does this uncompressed avi file come from? You may wish to post the properties so we can have a look at it, and how you're attempting to import it.

Never hear of that particular error message before but if I saw it I would suspect that it meant insufficient room on the hard drive.

First time seeing this message. anyway, can you tell me if you have installed all updates for VS X2? If not you can download them at http://www.corel.com/corel/pages/index. ... id=1300014.

Also, can you try performing a system restore to a date when the VS X2 was still working properly. It could be a program that's conflicting with VS X2 on your computer.

Abiel: yes I installed the patch for VS12.

What have I now done?
I made the Library empty because there were a lot of references in the several sub-libraries (I estimate around 2000 references in the several maps of the Library). Afterwards this deleting, the result was the same ==> still this message about BB storage...
Then I un-installed again VS, and I installed VS + content pack + patch
Now the message "BB error message" seems to stay away (and nearly no references in the Media-Library)

I ran a few tests a while ago and came up with this info..........

No Storage to load BB

This is related to Nesting of Video Studio Projects
Adding more than one VSP within a VSP also causes problems.
Further editing of the nested project will also cause problems.

We are able to add a single project file to the library without problems. Insert “Project 0ne.vsp” to the library
.
Open the same Project one.vsp as normal, file Open Project, add another vsp to the timeline, We have simply nested a VSP, save the project.

Now try to access the “project one.vsp” in the library.
no storage 1.jpg
Ok a few more tests.

If I try to nest a VSP inside itself---(nest “project one.VSP” into “project one.VSP”)---- I receive this error No Storage to load BB
no storage 2.jpg
no storage 2.jpg (38.45 KiB) Viewed 24444 times
If I insert a different VSP (nesting) then I am able to do so and save the project. “project two.VSP” into “project one.VSP”
Accessing “project one.VSP” within the library only shows a black screen when playing.
However if I select File whilst the VSP is selected then the program crashes with this error.
no storage 3.jpg
If I try to add a nested VSP to the library I get this message.
no storage 4.jpg
no storage 4.jpg (38.45 KiB) Viewed 24444 times
Adding VSP’s to the library is possible provided the VSP is NOT nested.

------------------------------------
I have always thought that we could save a VSP to any location on the hard drive and if needed move it to another folder, using a VSP in the normal way (no nesting) this is possible.
However add the VSP to the library or nest a VSP and the file has to be treated as though it’s a video file, It has to remain in the same folder, cannot be re-named.
Normally we would receive a Re-link for a lost video file, for a lost VSP we get the dreaded No Storage to load BB.

I don’t know what BB stands for nor understand the full description but now know how to create the error.

000011404 - Resetting VideoStudio Pro X4 to Factory Defaults

Print
Resetting VideoStudio Pro x4 back to factory defaults

In order to reset VideoStudio Pro x4 back to the factory default settings you will need to rename or remove a specific folder under your user profile folder.

Before peforming this procedure, please ensure that VideoStudio Pro x4 is not running.

Be aware this will reset your library and you may need to reimport your videos once completed.

Windows Vista/7

Click on Start.
Click in the search box at the bottom of the Start menu .
Type in: %appdata% and hit enter.
In the window that opens, find the Ulead Systems Folder.
Open the Ulead Systems folder.
Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.
There should be a 14.0 folder listed here. If you have older versions you might have a 13.0, or 12.0 etc.
Rename 14.0 to 14.0_old.
Open VideoStudio.

Windows XP

Click on Start.
Select Run.
In the Run box type: %appdata% and click ok.
In the window that opens, find the Ulead Systems Folder
Open the Ulead Systems folder.
Open the Corel VideoStudio Pro folder.
There should be a 14.0 folder listed here. If you have older versions you might have a 13.0, or 12.0 etc.
Rename 14.0 to 14.0_old.
Open VideoStudio.

Once you have renamed the folder, VideoStudio Pro X4 will now be reset to its factory defaults when you open it again.

I'm getting the message "No storage to load BB" on VS X10. Can't find any references to it. I've had nothing but problems since "upgrading" to 10. So much for the Bleeding Edge.

Hi

Can you give more details to what you are doing when you get that error?
Tell us what type of clips you are using in your project?

My tests re above post, may be a little out of date for X10 as the process of inserting a VSP to the library and timelines ( nesting ) has improved, now being documented, mainly with the intro of MultiCameraEdit

I receive the "no storage to save BB" error all the time.

Mostly when I'm importing video - I will select a number of files to save to a library folder I've created, and after several files are transferred to the library, I'll get a "No storage to save BB" error. It will either then create a white file icon with an "x" through it in the library, or it will continue on with the transferring of files to the library. However, if the file associated with the error is put in the library with the correct thumbnail, it still won't be viewable. If I click on it, it will do nothing, even if the file is hundreds of mb's or even over a gig in size. I have to delete the file and re-import the file to the library. I can't delete the file if it's created with the white icon and the "x" through it.

Sometimes I will receive the error when I'm editing out scenes - I put a long video file on the timeline, and will cut out scenes I'll use later. As I go through the file on the timeline, sometimes after I cut the clip I want, and try to drag and drop in my library, it will come up with the "No storage to save BB" message.

So this issue has been going on for nearly a decade. Any solution yet?

Fortunately for me, it's more of an inconvenience than anything else. Still would like to know if there's a solution though.

Hi

Have you tried Resetting the library, that will restore the library to its original installed condition.
Yes that will remove all your personal library pages.
So try Settings Library Manager Export Library.
If that works then try Import Library, just to make sure you are able to restore your library version. It may fail if the library has errors, which clearly it has.

Now try Resetting the library.

There is also an option to reset the program by removing / renaming the 19.0 folder here
C:\Users\UserName \AppData\Roaming\Ulead Systems\Corel VideoStudio Pro (x64)\19.0

Simply re-name the 19.0 folder to “19.0 old”
Running CVSX9 will generate a new 19.0 folder.

Ok

How do you import clips to your library?
I would recommend using the Import Media Files option at the top of the library.
If you drag and drop from Windows Explorer then it is possible to select the wrong file type causing errors.

Oh what do you mean by cannot delete the clips from the library, select a clip, if you get a message, cancel should leave the clip selected, hit keyboard delete.
