VSX2 Audio Reencoding?

Post by qtrim »

If I have an AVCHD file with DD2.0-384 audio and I make a copy to DVD Compliant Mpg, specifying the same audio properties, does VSX2 reencode the audio?

I would imagine it has to re-encode to some degree if only to rewrite the time stamp to stay in alignment with the different video properties.
However I would also imagine that the "re-encode" would be very close to no re-encode in terms of bitrate etc.
