can't duplicate dvd

After making a DVD in movie factory - I tried to use the program to duplicate the DVD. It spends about 30 min working on both the source and the blank with the indicator lights appropriately turning on and off , reaches 100% of completion, then sends an error"Error in reading from a file" and then ejects the blank cd which has nothing written on it. ???

any ideas?

Sounds to me like there is an error on the original. I've had this happen. Use better/different/more compatible media?

Does it play PERFECTLY in a player? I had one that did play perfectly but wouldn't copy.

I had this problem with a disk once - it burned okay on nero. It was a brand I hadnt heard of. It would play on the pc on powerdvd player but wouldnt play on the family dvd player which is pretty useless.

My solution was using DVDShrink - you can download it at www.videohelp.com - check out the download area. I copied the dvd to the harddrive using dvdshrink and then just reburned the disk in nero and it worked fine on my standalone dvd player - its just this might be your only solution (not sure - might be more?) if you have not clicked create DVD files and folders in Ulead and deleted your original DV files and you are stuck with just the one disk. At least it would save you having to start over again which I had to do once and believe me its a real annoyance.
