insignia hd dv hdmi camera & video studio pro x2

Post by dianebranch »

I have been trying to use the capture button. I thought that it would recognize my hd camera as the source (it's plugged in) but it doesn't - the only one it recognizes is a Chicony usb 2.0 camera. I think it's b/c it doesn't recognize avi (xvid) type files. Can anyone help me? thanks

I am not familiar with the camera but understand that it films in 1280 x 720p mode. I didn't think it recorded to DivX format. But since it records to an SD card, the normal way you 'capture' from such cameras is not to use Capture in VS. Instead you simply transfer the video files as you would transfer any other file from an SD card by using Windows' Copy and Paste controls to a folder on your computer. Then you just open the files with Video Studio for editing.
