Animated GIF's
Why is it, that when you insert an animated GIF into VS x2,
You do NOT see any motion?
I have tired inserting a number of animated gif's from different
locations, and none of them have any motion!

When wanting to use animated GIFs, as video clips you must bear in mind the properties. If the file only has 5 frames, and your video project is the standard 29.97fps or 25fps you're not going to see much if any animation. So make sure that your GIF file has a sufficient duration/frames. For an animated GIF to play as a video, it will need those numbers of frames for each second of play. Most animated GIFs are designed for web play, so have very few frames...

Ray,
Perhaps you misunderstood Steve when he said that you need "to install the animated GIF as if it were video." Here's how I successfully inserted an animated GIF into a video.
Click on the Insert media files into the Timeline icon (that the folder with the arrow pointing down). Next select, Insert Video. Now for Files of Type, select Animated GIF Files, and select your animated gif file. Viola!
Hope this helps,

Ray,
That is indeed strange. Can you post the properties of your gif?
Ron

Not that strange. I have had very similar unexplainable experiences with VS crashing with various MPEG 4 files. Certain files I cannot insert, period. Others with seemingly identical properties work.RayBaker wrote:Thanks for the tip Ron...
However, even trying your method, every time I try to
insert an animated gif into VS x2, it crashes...
I mean, it just quits the program, and VS is gone...
Strange one, huh?
Hmmm.
