Have you ever seen the 1943 movie, "The Gang's All Here?"

In the opening sequence, we are in a dark theatre, with and all black screen...

In total blackness, the voice of the wonderful Aloysio De Oliveira, begins to sing, "Brazil..."

A small circle appears on the screen, and moves from top left, slowly to the center of the screen, growing larger all the time.

Within this circle, we are able to see Aloysio, performing the song...

Finally, the circle fill the entire screen with the image of Aloysio singing¡K

I would like to roughly create this effect with VS x2 Can anyone offer any help as to achieving a similar effect?

Can you give us a visual? Is there a clip on YouTube?

The closest that I can come to that uses 2 video filters, Light Filter, and Vignette. Here are screenshots on what I used. It will get you started, you'll need to play around with the customization on them..

Hi Ron,

That looks easy enough...

Did you check out the link to the video clip of what I want to do?

Thanks for the tip!

Well now that I see the effect, it is somewhat different than I was imagining. My example is basically a spot-light effect, where the subject is stationary and the light is moving.

I would still focus on using the Light filter, however it appears that the person singing is moving towards center stage, while being zoomed in. The zooming can be done in VS, however the movement would be difficult to get down, due to a lack of motion-paths..
