When on a trip, we usually use our digital camera to take alternatively photos (still image) and videos (when there is motion). Inserting images first in the timeline and then inserting in between at the right spot in the timeline (to retain the sequence of events) is very time consuming .
Is there a way to insert in one shot both images and photos in sequence in the timeline or storyboard ?
Thanks !

Unfortunately there is not. Are you using the Libraries (video, image, audio, ect...) ? Then you can drag and drop your clips, then arrange them to suit you. One way to help arrange them is to use the Storyboard mode to insert your clips. You can adjust the size of the Storyboard by grabbing the small dots located just above the Track Manager icon, and dragging upward. Then a vertical scrollbar will appear on the right if there are more clips than can be viewed.
In previous versions, VS provided a way to open the Storyboard up full so that the user could re-arrange their clips. For some reason they have dropped it in VS Pro..

That's Timeline View, Ron was referring to Storyboard View. But resizing the way you describe does the trick.

Sorry guys but that view only shows the video track and not the overlay tracks. The videos are wrapping round like text does when it reaches the end of a line. Although it looks like a multiple track display it is in fact just the top track.

EDIT:
I think we may be at cross purposes, I thought you wanted to show all the tracks at once but reading the first post again I think the original poster is only concerned with the video track. Oh well at least it has been fully described!

Insert both images and videos in sequence in the timeline ?
Folks,
though I have learned a few more tricks here, and unless I have missed something or someone has another hint on how to get around that problem, I understand that the answer to my query is "NO , I cannot insert in one shot both images and videos in sequence in the timeline or storyboard".
So I guess I have to continue to do it like I have been doing it up to now, that is insert all my images first , then take each video and slot it in the timeline where it belongs in the time sequence of events (time-consuming but doable).
Thank you all for your input...we cannot win them all...!!!
