Problems with Playback on Media players

Post by BETOLED »

I am encountering problems with playback of mpeg2 video files on media players. I tried windows media player (got sound but no picture) tried
WIN DVD 8 (I get black screen and no vid or audio) and finally I tried
VLC Media player ( I get a jerky video picture)
Any ideas as to what I should use. I am shooting in AVCHD and rendering files using mpeg optimizer.

I am trying to mute my entire video scenes on the timeline at the same time so I can use my own music soundtrack.
So far I can only mute one scene at a time but not all in one step.
Please help.

Can you please right click on the mpeg-2 file inside VS -- either in the timeline or the library window -- and copy ALL its properties here.

The properties window will not allow me to copy and paste - there is a lot of info there. I can paste/send a screen shot but apparently the web board does not appear to allow this

No, you can't copy and paste. By copy here we mean actually typing the info.

To post a screen shot the picture you must upload it to the Internet. A free file sharing site will work.

Following is the link to my screen shot showing the properties of one of the
rendered video files with playback problems

Hope you'll be able to see the image.
Thanks

As far as I am aware, WMP will not play AVCHD -- mine cannot even see it if it has either the native .mts or .m2ts extensions. You could try changing the extension to .mpg and it might work...

WinDVD 8 also cannot play it. You would need WinDVD 9 or PowerDVD 8 or 9.
