I have scanned a map of the world and I want to make all the continents and countries stand out from the oceans and seas without using bright colors for countries.
I thought of having a BLACK border (edge) around all the continents and countries (each country has a different color).
How can I do this. All I could think of was to use the Magic Wand to select each country but then how would I create a black border around the edge.
I know that I could use a paint brush but this would take too long and be too difficult so thought that perhaps there is a smarter way.
Thanks

This one has me baffled. So far the only thing that I've found in PSP is to use the Magic Wand to create a selection around a country. Then go to Effects>Edges>Enhance. That doesn't put a black outline around it but it does make it stand out.
I've tried finding a tutorial that might explain how to do this, and so far no joy. Now if you had PI, it would be a snap... Paint on Edges...

Thanks Ron,
I had completely forgotten about 'edge enhance'.
I too had 'dogpiled' (I use Dogpile not Google) the web for tutorials too so 'reverted' to the 'expert users' of the Corel User to User web board.
While I have your attention. Is there real evidence that Videostudio X2 is more stable than v10? I have had so many 'crashes' using v10 since buying it 2 years ago that I have reverted to use v9 (3 months ago) and have not had a crash since.
I would probably buy X2 if I was sure that it wouldn't crash as much as v10.

I know you've had constant problems with VS10, and I still don't know why. I've not had much problems with it. Now as far as VS12, it seems a bit more sluggish. I've had it crash a couple of times on me. One time recently was I think due to an update, which for some reason caused the DEP to kick in. I simply added it to the exclusion.
Since I have a laptop, when I find enough time, I'm going to reformat my desktop, and use it as a dedicated video editing PC. No internet, anti-virus, IE, FF, anti-spyware, nothing but the OS, my photo and video programs. That should prevent most if not all crashes.
The stability of programs varies so much from PC to PC due to the hardware, firmware, and software. The order in which things are installed can also affect programs. The one thing that I've been paying attention to, is that generally right around the time MS releases updates, we get an influx of posts where people have problems, that are corrected by updating DirectX. So while MS patches or updates for security reasons, those updates seem to break some parts of VS, and DVD MF.
So while I may be able to run VS10, 11 or 12 with minimal problems, others, like you tend to have nightmares. It could be that I can have problems while others don't. I do have some problems every now and then. When I do I just start working my way through what may have caused it, and what it takes to fix it. You can run VS9, however recently I've had a lot of problems with it. I've reinstalled it 3x in the last 2 months. Partly because VS12 seems to somehow conflict with it on my system. I don't rely that much on VS9, so when it does throw a fit, I just close it down and use something else, until I can get around to correcting it.
