MicroMV can not be found

Post by hermanto »

I am using a Sony MicroMV type DCR-1P1E-PAL and UVS 9. For ordinary capture, UVS9 can detect a MicroMV device and can load to the pc, but in the DV to DVD Wizard mode, it can not detect the MicroMV camera.
Can anybody help me in this case. Thanks.

did you make sure to switch the capture plugin to MICROMV?

Yes. That's why in the ordinary capture mode, UVS9 can detect and capture video in the MicroMV device. Only in the DV to DVD mode that it can not. Thanks again.

MicroDV is not DV. MicroDV uses MPEG2 encoding, which is of significantly lower quality than MiniDV -- it carries only a fraction of the video that that MiniDV contains.

Thanks THoff. If MicroMV is not a DV, so is it possible to scan a MicroMV cassette as we do to a DV cassette in UVS 9 DV to DVD Wizard?

Micromv

Hey Hermanto.

I to am having the exact problem. I cannot get the "DV Quick Scan and Capture Wizard" to recognize my device. I have a micro-mv camcorder. I have the Sony DCR-IP220 and I have been using studio 8 but just upgraded today to 9.

What confuses me is that when I hit the "Capture Video" option and install the micromv plug-in, it totally sees my camera and lets me control it from the program screen. I can then capture video with no problems.

However, I had this ability in version 8 and one of the big reasons I bought version 9 was to have a program other than "Movie Shaker", that came with the camera, that would scan the tape and let me download video based on when scenes were taped.

I understand that micromv is not the same as DV. Does anyone know for sure if that means that I will never get that feature to work?

Thanks in advance for any help.
