Inserting multiple VSP files to timeline

I had seven hours of video to edit so I broke it into 3 separate VSP files (seemed like a good idea at the time). Now that I've edited the 3 files I want to bring them all together in a new VSP file but retaining all the separate edits in the 3 files.
Reason for this is having reduced 7 hours to around 60 minutes (but split across the 3 VSPs) I can now see that I want to push and pull clips between the three VSPs.
Easiest and most productive way for me to do this is to have the three original VSPs on one new VSP/timeline.
But how can I do that?
When I use 'Insert Media File to Timeline' the first VSP drops in neatly but the second and third appear without the edits!
Help!

You can't. When you insert a VSP into another project, that VSP acts like a single video clip. So you can't take a clip from VSP A and put it into VSP B.

A clear answer.
Not the answer I want but nonetheless a clear one.

I really did think that given the size of the overall project working in smaller VSP files would be more effective. It's high def film and if I am referencing 7 different 60 minute mpeg files from a single VSP I figured it would be very slow.

Am I missing something or would the option to combine VSPs be a sensible additon to the wish list for future releases?

A VSP is only a text file that tells VS where to find the clips, transitions, etc. So you can't take a clip from one VSP and put it in another, because there aren't any clips there.

When you place one VSP inside another VSP it's known as Nesting. The now Obsolete big brother to VS, MediaStudio Pro 8, had the ability to create multiple timelines. With it you could nest one inside the other, with a limit of only 2-levels. This type of setup would be ideal for what you're trying to do. The additional timelines were for other projects that you want to have open and accessible without having to close your current project. To make further edits to other timelines (projects), you simply go to that timeline, make you edits. If this timeline is already nested in the main project, it is automatically updated in the main timeline....

So anyway this limit on levels is the same for VS nesting VSP files. Also as Jeff pointed they are only text files, or virtual clips. So you would need to save any changes to your VSP, close it, re-open your Main VSP, then re-link or re-insert the one(s) you just finished editing.

It would be nice if Corel would incorporate not only the 99 audio and video tracks that MSP has, but the additional Timeline feature. But that and moving paths, would then bring VS right up to being MSP...

Thanks for your help. Even when I don't get the answer I want from you guys I still learn.
The ability to have mulitple VSP files in the same timeline PLUS moving paths would indeed be a great step forward. The lack of these functions is/has caused me heartache and frustration.
