Broken Time Code Question

When we use Mini DV tapes, it is recommended that we put camera lens on, click record and run through the entire blank tape.
This prevents the problem of broken time codes.

Is this process required when using cameras with Hard Drives? or is applicable only to Tapes?

No this is not required or recommended with Hard drive cameras. Tapes are linear recordings, and hard drives are not. You don't reformat your harddrives on your PC before capturing/transferring to them do you? ;)

What happened to the free tutorials on TakeOne Flix? The page redirects to your "store" site, seeitdoit...;) I see that you still provide free tutorials for our competitor products but no longer for Ulead/Corel brands...:(
