Uploading High Definition for YOUTUBE

OK. So there is quite a bit of advice around for uploading HD content using add on converters etc.. but has anyone actually used Videostudio X2 to create the correct encoding? I understand that the H.264 codec is a must, but don't know whether Videostudio can render files to this or whether another application is needed to make a better conversion.

The h.264 is found in the MPEG-4 codecs, and the AVCHD templates (NTSC-HDMV) yes VS ProX2 is capable of rendering using it.

Hi, I have used VS Prox2 for YouTube HD videos. I just edit video, share,create videofile, WMV, WHM 1080 (25p).Then upload file via YouTube site, It takes hours to upload.Conversion is very good

Thanks Jeff and John. I guess I will have to experiment, but my understanding is the H.264 codec is the better option. I can but see.

AVCHD ipso facto uses the H.264 codec...

Hello Ken. Nice to hear from you my friend. The problem I'm having is which FLAVOUR of H.264 to use. I need the BEST quality HD for You Tube. I shoot with Canons, HV30 and XH-A1, that are not obviously AVCHD.
If I select the MPEG-4 option from 'Creat File' I have only Zune, iPod, PSP and other PDA options, which I don't want. If I go into CUSTOM and select MPEG-4, then I have an even GREATER baffling selection to make:
M4V-SP
M4V-ASP
H.263
H.264 BASELINE
H.264 MAIN
That's BEFORE we start on deciding on frame sizes and data bit rates. I just want to make the BEST quality file for uploading to Youtube HD!
