I know I can do this but I am having trouble finding out how. All I want to do is fade a title in... let it be on the screen.... then fade it out (like you can do with an image).

I forget how to do this.

Thanks in advance.

Bob

(I have done searches on title fade ect., to no avail).

You write your title, then, since you are in the Title screen, you choose the Animation far right of screen. Tick the little 'Apply Animation' box. Then choose Fade from the drop down menu. Customise by choosing both the preset and using the TT button.

Thanks Ken.. you Jeff Steve and Ron (and others I forget their names) are great!

On a side issue, I just lost my Text control handles (to resize the text box). How did I screw that up?

As always, appreciate the help... this is one of the best run and monitored forums on the Internet and I am sure a lot of people would agree!

Have you put your mouse on part of the text and left clicked?

Yes, and nothing happened. I then changed to Multiple titles and now I have the handles. For the life of me, I can not figure out why they do this...

Someone was out to lunch with the Ttile portion of this great Application.

Does anyone know how to get this working on a Character basis? When I click the TT, I only get the Custom dropdown if I pick "Text". I want to fade each character in one at a time and then fade the whole clip out. As a workaround, I've made a copy of the text and placed it next to the one that has the characters fading in. The copy then fades out. Can I do this with one text object?

Thanks,
Richard

Which animation are you using? Just taking a quick look it looks like most all of them have the ability to apply the animation to the character.

Yes, I have the animation set to the Character, so the character correctly fades in. Now I want the characters to fade out. Basically I want a cross-fade for Character, but it does not seem to work.

I guess this begs the question... Is there a way to attach two transitions to Text (Transition In and Transition Out)?

Ok, I think I understand you now. Using the Fade animation for example, if you have it set to crossfade by text, the title starts blank then fades in, then fades out. That's how it should be.

But if you have it set to crossfade by character, word or line it always starts with the title visible, fades out, then fades back in again. It does it backwards. That is strange. :?

Yup. That's the problem!
