Capture of first or last frame changes aspect ratio

Hello,

Another wierd issue with pictures in VS X2 pro. When you capture a still frame from the first or last frame of a 4:3 video (source is DV-avi) the captured still is converted to what looks like a 16:9 image size with black bands on top and bottom of the screen and a slightly squashed look. (By the way the captured still properties show a 720 x 480 size which should be full frame 4:3) I wanted to use the effect at the end a video to freeze the last frame and do some transitons / overlays on the still image. Unfortuantely this unasked for conversion results in a jump from the normal last frame to a different looking last frame still image. What is going on with this? Help once again appreciated....

Thanks,

Todd

AFAIK, VS has always done that. Under Resampling Option simply change to Fit To Project Size and it will fill the screen for your 4:3.

The "as far as you know" definetly seems to be correct! When I remove the keep aspect ratio, the full fram horizontal captures appear to be just fine. There are some odd things that happen to imported pictures depending on horizonatal or vertical orientation of the original photo but I'll get those figured out.

Is there a VS X2 pro handbook that someone has written? It would be nice to have something more complete than the users manual.

Thanks,

Todd

Not that I know of. The way X2 works is not all that different from previous versions. Have you looked at the Tutorial section of the forum?
