TerratecGrabsterAV250MKII is not found as a source using MF5

Post by Johan »

Hello!
moviefactory 5.0.0183 can not find Terratec Grabster AV250MKII s a source. I have installed latest driver from terratec. I can see the video but not hear any sound when using AMCAP version 1.0 from MS.
Do i need to install servicepack 1(for moviefactory 5) to be able to find the grabster as a source? Do I install it on top?

Thanks in advance..

Johan

Welcome to the forums,

Since you are experiencing problems with your device, and there is a patch to fix it, I would suggest downloading and installing it.

MF5 now finds source, but s**** sound , no preview,
Amcap: Preview but no sound...

Microphone, USB device, is working in recording mode.

Any ideas for next step?

I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with AMCap. Not much info found about it, other than it is a DirectShow compatible capture software. Intervideo discontinued using DirectShow and WFW as their capture plug-in, replacing it with IVI. We were informed that this was to comply with Vista, as it does not support DirectShow. Are you running this on WinXP or Vista?

Im running it on Vista
AMCAP is not important to me but at least it tells source works.
When first trying MF5 after upgrade it worked for 2sec in NTCS -mode(no sound). Then black screen.

Maybe you've already installed it, but I'm not sure as you haven't stated, so I'm asking if you've installed the DVD MovieFactory 5 or 5 Plus Vista Pack ?
http://www.ulead.com/tech/dmf/dmf_ftp_50.htm

It must have the Vista Pack installed in order to run on Vista machines..

Thanks for not giving up ..

I have installd from cd : moviefactory 5.0.0183
downloaded and installed DVD MovieFactory 5.0 Service Pack 1
downloaded and installed DVD MovieFactory 5 Vista Pack
Not installed DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus Vista Pack (I have not MFplus)

I wonder if it has to do with the order...What happens when adding patch?
Terratec recomends
1. Install terratec drives
2. Install MF

I added device support pack and installed them in this order.

I have installd from cd : moviefactory 5.0.0183
DVD MovieFactory 5 Hauppauge/Terratec devices support pack
downloaded and installed DVD MovieFactory 5.0 Service Pack 1
downloaded and installed DVD MovieFactory 5 Vista Pack
Not installed DVD MovieFactory 5 Plus Vista Pack (I have not MFplus)

It worked with s**** sound. I tried to make the sound work. Sound lost. Suddenly MF lost connection to both usb camera and grabster. Never found it again.

From what are you trying to capture, Camcorder (DV, Hi-8, HD), VCR, DVR? You complain that the sound is not good, how do you mean this? Is the sound distorted, over-driven sounds like too much volume? If so this could be the audio line is not connected correctly. If you're trying to use a Microphone line as a audio line-in this could cause the sound to distort. Microphone inputs amplify the signal, where line-in does not.

Hi again,
Im using Sony Camrecorder video 8. Sound is craking when volume gets to high in preview movie. Line in..Audio line in...I do not undertand ..Is it really possible to choose between them when I use the Grabsters USB connection?
If it does please provide me with a link so I can read more about it...
