Hi there.

I have a weekend's memories taken with my Handycam and some 100 still pictures. What is the norm or preferred way of compiling my DVD with video and still pics? I will appreciate your help.

Regards,
Deon

Really, it's whatever you prefer. Some will have all the video together as a project and the stills together as a separate project. Others will "cut in" with the stills over the video, or vice versa. There is no best way to do it. Only your way.

Personally, apart from the occasional time I might insert one or two still photos into a video to emphasise something, or as a background for a title, I tend to keep my slideshows separate. Tha main reason I do so is that I can render a slideshow using no Field Order (Upper or Lower Field First), but instead, I use Frame Based, because this is perfectly suited to photos. Unlike video, they are shot as one solid frame, rather than two alternating Fields. So I never get the sort of problems others occasionally experience with photos in videos.
