color balance a certain part of a clip?

Post by brucefl »

I have several clips I am working on in Pro X2. I need to adjust the color balance in part of the clip (not that whole clip)
I can't multi-trim that part of the clip, because it resets other parts?
I have tried to use the markers in the edit (regular) window but that cuts another part of the clip out.
I seem to be doing something wrong :)
thanks

Colour Balance

With the clip selected use the scissor icon to cut where you want to start
colour correction and repeat this where you want to end the correction.
Now your clip is in 3 parts and the middle part is where you do your
corrections. ..................Ken

If your color correction is rather noticeable, you might also want to consider clipping your project in a way in which you leave an overlap between the color corrected portion and the other portions. You would then carefully overlap the clips so that the each frame is on top of itself in both the color corrected version and the normal version, and use a crossfade transition to "ease into" the color corrected segment.

The plus to this would be that your finished result won't suddenly shift color abruptly. The challenge becomes precisely syncing the overlap so that the frames correspond - otherwise, you'll get something of a fuzzy blur as the project transitions between clips.
