. I have a simple problem. I use VS 8 to pull
out commercials. My computer crashed so I reinstalled.Ever since then
when I put the footage in and start the rendering process, the
finished product tiles every once in a while. im recording with
Beyond TV at the highest quality so it has to be VS. Is there a
default setting in the preferences that is causing this that I need to
check or uncheck??
tiling every 3 seconds after rendering from pulling out ads

Welcome to the Forums!
First, can you explain exactly what you mean by 'tiling'. In my mind, I think of tiling as applying, say, with still photos, where the photos are stacked behind each other with the top and/or one side border showing in a stepped ('tiled') overlapping fashion behind the front frame.
But I suspect that is not what you mean. I am wondering if you mean the video becomes pixelated i.e. with small blocks ('tiles'?) of colour appearing...?

any thoughts
what sucks is that I edited a bunch of shows for the last 3 months and upon viewing recently i found the pixelating. Its terrible because I deleted all the original footage already
