Ulead Studio 11+ with updates.

What is the recommended way to get video from my Sony Handycam to my Vista Ultimate PC?

I have installed my Sony Handycam's software.

When connecting the USB connection between my PC and Handycam, I switch on my camera, select computer connection and open Ulead 11+. I then choose to use the wizard and click on "Capture". Immediately after this a message pops up telling me the following:
"Either no video capture driver is installed in this system or no device is connected".

OK, I know the device is connected - I can import via my Sony Handycam's software.

What would be the preferred/recommended way to get video from my Handycam to my PC?

Does "Capture" mean to get the video from my camera?

analogue/digital/video8/super8/d8/Minidv/hard drive/mem card/dvd

The way for each will be slightly different using VS direct, otherwise you just capture with the sony programme and import into VS.

Try "Insert Digital Media" then "Import from Folder". Then see if your camera is showing as a removable drive. Double click if so.

Hi there.

It's a Sony DCR-DVD608 camera which records directly onto a DVD.

finalise dvd and pop it in your pc dvd drive and use import media.

Thanx, sounds easy enough. I was afraid of loosing image quality when doing this.
