Re the above some advice please on the following :-

1 Capture Format
2 Audio format in project options
3 project properties edit file format
4 Audio and Video format in Compression tab
5 Anything else to look for
I want to edit the project and burn a PAL DVD from it (XP) ...........Ken

Hi Ken

As far as I know your video files are recorded to the hard drive on the camera.
These files are uploaded/copied to your hard drive on the pc.
Probably best to use the cameras software to do this.

No re-coding takes place, you are simply transferring the footage to the pc.

Then insert the file to the Video Studio timeline.
If you have Preferences- Show messages......... ticked, you should get the info window asking you to change the project settings to match.
Select ¡¥Details to view the right panel for the video properties.
Now select ¡¥yes¡¦ to match the settings.
(Hopefully you will see this window.)

Edit the project then create a new video file Share Create Video File ¡VSame as first Clip or Project settings.
Using the new file to burn a DVD. New Project Share Create Disc¡XAdd Video.
