Post by ramdaspillai »

Help needed pls.

Capture devise is not detected in VS 12 X2. I have VS 11+ also loaded on the same machine. Is that the problem. I am able to capture through VS 11+.

I wouldn't have thought having both installed would cause this problem, maybe tell us what your capture device is and how it is connected.

No, having both installed will not cause that problem. However, since you can capture with v11 why not do so, then import the clips into v12?

Capture problem

I have Mini DV Panasonic NV-GS70. Having to capture through VS 11 and then close and open VS 12 takes time.

Yes, it probably takes a whole minute to close 11 and open 12, but it works.

Hello, just surfin around here. Scince I am required to post my first in the next 12 hrs this seems like a good place to start. I just installed VSP X2 and I too am having difficulty getting my capture device recognized. I have however just installed a firewire input in that is in question and I havent followed up on it yet. Hopefully my Sony trv 930 digital 8 cam is compatable? Thanks.

firewire devices should meet the IEEE1394 standard, so they should all work out of the box.... but not all cam makers use firewire spec firmare and windows didn't use firewire spec software either, so sometimes it goes wrong, but 99.9% of the time it all works fine.

If it's not working then the best thing to do is test each item in the chain with a known to work item (you can see it working) and work out which of your pieces is faulty.... hopefully.
