editing mistake

Post by VideoRolf »

Starting VS 11,5 Plus you have the choice for checking the bottom 16:9
With one of my last projects I forgot to do so. The project in question is captured in full HD wide screen.
So the outcome is now in 4:3 on the TV screen - very disappointing this mistake of mine.
Is there a possibility to recover this aspect ratio before I re-edit the whole video?
Has somebody out there a good idea?
Thanks in advance for each tip and have a nice day

Hi

The option to select the 16:9 widescreen on the start/splash screen merely sets the project properties as 16:9 default. (you should only have to do this once)

Once VS has opened, go to File ¡V Project Properties ¡V Edit ¡VGeneral tab and change the Display Aspect Ratio.

Thanks again and a very nice weekend to you

If you are intending to burn a DVD to playback on a TV then when you get to the Share > Create Disc > DVD make sure that the aspect ratio at the bottom left of that window reads 16.9. If necessary click on the little cog wheel and make sure it is showing 16.9 there and not 4.3.
