Hi,
Am having trouble updating virus protection: message is that there is some bug in the cd-dvd burning code, that I need to get the patch that fixes the bug.
On ulead site there is a page with patches for MF3.x, but the patches that are linked in the pdf ulead supplies go to MF3.0. When trying to execute the linked files, the message is that 3.0 is not installed, and then the installer tries to install 3.0.
I saw a reference to a MF 3.5.1 patch somewhere while doing a search -- are there/were there patches specifically for MF3.5?
Thanks for your time

I've never seen a patch or fix for DVDMF 3.5, and I might note that I did not start using DVDMF until version 4. Perhaps one of the updates changed the version number 3.5, from the 3.0..
The patches you found on Ulead's website are the only ones that have ever been released for the older versions. So if you have a 3.5 version of DVD MF it might not have come from Ulead, but from some hardware vendor that included it with their hardware. Those versions generally will have an SE on the end of the version number, and are possibly tweaked by the vendor.
I might also add that most patches and updates released by Ulead/Corel will not install to SE, VE, or Trial versions..

The software (which has no SE or VE on it) indeed came from an outside hardware vendor. I did find one site that offered a 3.5.1 patch, but don't know anything about where it comes from... Nonetheless, it looks like Ulead has very little to do with non-whole numeral versions despite the 0.x after the numeral on their website. Argh. If it weren't for the fact I still use the dvdr the software came with, I'd go for the MF3.exe and install and update it.
Like you say tho, sometimes software needs tweaking to work with hardware and am just gonna cross my fingers the virus protection works despite the bug. Will avoid using both at same time for sure...
Thanks for words of wisdom
