Hey everyone...
I am doing a wedding project right now and it will take some time to complete. I want to edit my daughters soccer game and a play from school. Is it alright to capture various projects and save them and work on them as needed without risking any future problems because of this concept or is it best to finish one project at a time. Also if it's NOT a problem in doing this, does it matter if some of these projects are digital and some are analog? They would be seperate projects and not mixed together.
Thanks, Dan

Dan,
There is a problem when mixing analog and digital clips. The field orders are different and yet you have to combine them into a single field order when you create your project video file. Earlier tests have shown a definite loss of resolution when clips that were captured as Upper Field First are rendered to Lower Field First (and vice versa).
If I were you I would definitely put the analog clips (Upper Field First) in one project and the digital clips (Lower Field First) in another project. Then you would have separate project video files that would be combined only when you burn the DVD. I think this would give you the best chance of getting the best quality that the two sources are capable of.
John
BTW, remember to set the Preferences everytime you switch projects because the prefs are not saved in your project file.
Also group the assets for each project in its own folder or you will lose track of where things are....

Re: Multiple Projects
No problem at all I often have 3 or 4 projects on the go at the same time with different formats and have no problems at all - just open - edit - save them whenever you wantsportswizdan wrote: They would be seperate projects and not mixed together.
