smartsound problem

When i add smartsound to my timel;ine at the default duration and save the sound file as a wav all is fine and the rendering happens as it should
However when i streth the length of the loop to 6 minutes or more and try and save it as part of a project or as a sound file itself the rendering just skips saving no file
I am given to believe that smartsound loops can be stretched to any length on the timeline
Am i doing something wrong or are these loops not intended to create cound files beyond a certain lenght??
Please try out and let me know. i work on WinXP with sufficient RAM and CPU for editing requirements.

Well I have just tested this and saved a wav file of 9 minutes OK. Did you, by chance have the "Auto trim" box checked?

If you produced it to loop, that could be the problem. I personally never use the loop, but instead always work out to the second how long I want my SmartSound track to be, then produce it with a beginning, middle and end to that length. Then insert that. Always works.
I would have to add, again from a personal viewpoint, that I also never produce a SmartSound track much over 3 - 4 minutes long because it can get repetitive above that, and thus rather boring for an audience to sit through!

Once you save as a Wave file you've locked in the duration of the smartsound quicktrack.
Using auto fit (to the end of the cursor) you can then drag the end of the file to make it longer or shorter and adjust to fit.

When you use a Video Editing Program that is Smartsound Enabled you do not get much control over the creation of the smartsound music.
Briefly you can select a theme, duration and a variation.
Smartsound enabled Video Editing programs include
VideoStudio
Avid Liquid
CyberLink
Pinnacle
Roxio
Adobe Premiere
To have complete control over smartsound - including the options mentioned by Ken where you can select beginning, middle and endings - including (to some extent) creating "Your own" smartsound from your own music library - you need the "Full Version" of
Sonic Fire Pro.
Be warned though that it is expensive and so you need to be able to justify the outlay - such as if you create video for a living or paid part time work.
An alternative to Smartound is
Digital Juice.

Yes, I confess I was thinking of what I do with Sonic Fire. In essence, I have not even looked at SmartSound within Video Studio since about VS10 when I bought Sonic Fire. Since the OP referred to a 'loop' I assumed the ability to make an actual looping audio clip had made its way into the latest version of SmartSound included in VS. Wrong!

So I assume that when he referred to a 'loop' he actually meant just a clip.
However, my point is still valid from the point of view of using the internal SmartSound module in the manner described -- i.e. if you work out exactly in advance, from the length of the video to be covered, how long the SmartSound audio clip needs to be, and set that in the SmartSound module, then you will get an audio clip of exactly the right length. That will make it completely unnecessary to do things like dragging on the end of a SmartSound clip to extend its length, which would seem to be at the heart of the current problem.
