Canada to Britain

Post by Alan Pickersgill »

My dad's 90th birthday is approaching and I am scanning a ton of old photos. I'm also getting him to reminisce on a digital recorder. It will all go onto a DVD slide show. Many recipients will be here in Canada. Others will be in England and Scotland.

I remember back in the VHS days that a tape recorded on British TV wouldn't play on a Canadian TV. Something about the screen resolution.

If I make a DVD here, to play on a Canadian DVD player & TV, will it work on a British DVD player & TV? Or do I need to format it differently?

Thanks,

Alan

for a good few years an ntsc dvd will play back on a dvd and tv here. So as long as their equipment isn't ancient I'd suggest just sending an ntsc disc.
If it doesn't work, then they can always play it on a pc, as it doesn't matter if it's ntsc or pal for that.
