Virtual panning

Is there a way in X2 Pro to select an area in an high res image (photo) and move it e.g. from left to right and use the area image as a panning video in the timeline?

...Ummm ... have you looked at the Video Pan and Zoom filter? And played around with the key framing available in that to set your path and degree of zoom and/or pan?

If it's a still photo you don't even need the Video Pan & Zoom. Just use the Pan & Zoom that's located on the Edit tab when you select the photo in the timeline. But it's basically one in the same.
